Terms & Conditions

The following Terms and Conditions apply to all products and services provided by Timbers Flooring and in the event of any dispute are governed by the laws of England.

All work is carried out by Timbers Flooring on the understanding that the client has agreed to our terms and conditions.

 

By accepting and agreeing to Timbers Flooring undertaking any work/s you are also agreeing in full to our terms and conditions.

Fees

At the time of proposal Timbers Flooring will provide a verbal and or written estimate. Acceptance of this, either in writing or verbally, is also an acceptance of our terms and conditions.

Charges for any additional services requested during any project that are over and above the estimated time or out of scope, will become fully payable upon presentation of the invoice. This includes but is not limited to stain / colour / finish changes requested by customer, correcting damage caused by persons / animals walking on newly treated surfaces, or furniture or rugs replaced before the advised time frame as lapsed.

Fees must be settled in full in accordance with terms detailed on the invoice.

Fees can be settled by cash or by BACS transfer.

Accounts which remain outstanding for 30 days after the date of invoice, will incur overdue payment interest charged at the Bank of England Base Rate plus eight (8) percent on the outstanding amount from the date due until the date of payment. Failure to settle an outstanding balance after this time may result in the debt being forwarded to a debt collection agency.

Access

The customer must provide access to any premises where work is to be undertaken. They are responsible and liable for the safety of the premises.

Parking for one van, electricity, lighting and clean running water must be provided to enable Timbers Flooring to conduct their work.

 

Site

For wooden floor restoration projects, the client / customer is responsible for removing existing floor coverings and all furniture, and for the disposal of such items as required. Failure to do so before commencement of work will result in additional labour and disposal charges in addition to any estimate.

 

Liability

Timbers Flooring shall not be liable under any circumstances for any loss, expense, damage, delay, costs or compensation (whether direct, indirect or consequential), which may be suffered or incurred by the Client arising from or in any way connected with:

- failure to carry out its services as a result of factors that are beyond its control. Factors beyond its control include acts of god, floods, severe weather conditions, and inability to gain access to premises, lack of appropriate resources, such as water, electricity, and lighting

- late arrival at the service address. Timbers Flooring endeavour to be on time on any visit but sometimes due to transport related and other problems which are beyond our control the visit may be re-scheduled.

- existing damage to clients property in the form of old stains / burns / spillages etc. which cannot be cleaned / removed completely using the industry standard methods;

Timbers Flooring shall not be liable for an un-satisfactory result due to the Client, third party, pets or any animal walking on recently treated floors.

Timbers Flooring shall not be liable for accidentally punching or nailing a water or gas pipe, which have not been installed according to the national / corgi regulations for piping. Any issues arising subsequently shall be the sole responsibility of the Client.

Timbers Flooring shall not be responsible for a poor result in cleaning or restoration where this is a result of considerable wear and tear, staining, and / or excessive damage of the floor.

Timbers Flooring shall not be responsible for any variation  in stain colour caused by the natural variation and qualities of the wood flooring / previous coatings including paint / woodworm markings.

Professional inspection and treatment of any active woodworm is the responsibility of the client to undertake before works are scheduled to begin.

Timbers Flooring shall not be responsible for any damage caused as a result of placing furniture by the Client on the floor after treatment.

Timbers Flooring shall not be responsible for any damage or shrinkage of the wood floors or carpets caused by insufficient ventilation or heating of the home or premises.

Timbers Flooring  shall not be responsible for any remedial work necessary for damage caused by vibrations from the floor sanding or carpet cleaning machines such as cracks in the ceiling or walls, damage to skirting boards / doors / architrave. 

Timbers Flooring shall not be responsible for any loss or damage to gap filler caused by the natural movement of the floorboards, changes in humidity or by exposure to excessive amounts of liquid.

Timbers Flooring shall not be responsible for any damage caused by the necessary removal or replacing of furniture before or during the sanding / cleaning process.

Timbers Flooring shall not be responsible for any damage caused to engineered flooring through the sanding process due to an insufficient amount of wear layer ( the top layer ). The Client is responsible for determining whether a sufficient wood wear layer is present for all engineered flooring before scheduling works.

Timbers Flooring shall not be responsible for the loosening or dislodging of parquet herringbone or finger block flooring caused by the failure of previously applied adhesive.

Complaints

All flooring services shall be deemed to have been carried out to the Client’s satisfaction unless written notice is received by Timbers Flooring with details of the complaint. All complaints must be received in writing by post or email as soon as reasonably practical

Timbers Flooring will fully investigate any complaint and attempt to resolve the matter to the satisfaction of the Client, as part of the Company’s Service Guarantee.

The Client should allow Timbers Flooring to return and redo any disputed issue(s) before looking for an alternative way of resolving the issues or requesting proceedings towards compensation and refunds.

Service Guarantee:

We have built our business and reputation by providing our clients with quality carpet cleaning, stain removal, hard floor cleaning, wood floor restoration, wood floor sanding and maintenance service. We're proud to offer our own Service Guarantee.

On completion of works, the Client will check that the work has been completed to satisfaction and will inform Timbers Flooring immediately if they have any concerns or are unhappy with the quality of our workmanship.

Our Service Guarantee includes a free inspection of any issues immediately raised. Investigation may be required as well by manufacturers and suppliers.

Our Service Guarantee includes labour and materials.

The Company reserves the right to apply limitations on its Service Guarantee on wood floor restoration, carpet and hard floor cleaning.

Exemptions & Limitation of Our Service Guarantee:

  • Damage by a third party service or faulty appliance causing leak(s), increased air humidity or increased subfloor moisture levels, which have appeared after the works have taken place.

  • Working on floor coverings, which are at the end of their usability term, including engineered wood floors with significant wearing of its natural wood top layer.

  • Gap filling with resin filler during restoration of boards without click or tongue & groove fitting system.

  • Changes to the finish applied to a wooden floor to provide a certain colour or sheen.

 

 

Corrections

There may be information on this site that contains errors, inaccuracies, or omissions. Timbers Flooring reserve the right to correct these without any warning or notice.
